LaRonda Moore, a visionary leader and change agent in urban education that brings over two decades of experience in challenging the status quo and championing equitable educational reform. Starting as an English teacher in Detroit, she took on various roles, including department head, advanced placement teacher, and literacy coach.
In 2014, Moore transitioned into school leadership, serving as an assistant principal and dean of academics. She later held the central office position of director of K-12 ELA and Social Studies.
In 2021, Moore accepted her designation as the superintendent of Old Redford Academy where she spearheaded a bold two-year turnaround model that focused on a four-phase strategic plan: Stabilize, Transition, Develop/Grow, and Sustain. This comprehensive approach aimed to address critical concerns, assess needs, facilitate compliance, evaluate programs, reset culture, make staffing adjustments, implement initiatives, provide talent support, and ensure social equity, economic viability, and environmental protection.
Under Moore’s leadership, Old Redford Academy underwent a comprehensive rebranding process, fostering community partnerships and dedicating itself to academic excellence through student-centered learning.
Moore holds an Education Specialist in Leadership from Oakland University, a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Michigan, and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Oakland University. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership at Western Michigan University, further demonstrating her commitment to lifelong learning and educational excellence.
